Last weekend I visited St. Louis for the first time. (I know, I know... I live in Iowa for Pete's sake! I should have been to STL by now.) I had such a great time and wish I could have spent more time there. The (school-sponsored) trip was jam-packed full of museums and theatre, which is ideal for me. But I do wish I would have been able to squeeze some history and shopping in there, too. Pictured above is me on the stage of the Muny, an outdoor theatre in STL. Our group received a backstage tour and then enjoyed a production of "Beauty and the Beast." It was amazing... I felt like a little girl watching a Disney movie come to life on stage.
I got to see the arch! It wasn't actually part of the trip, but I had a two-hour lunch break. Chris (a friend of mine that I met my freshman year of college at UCM) was so very kind to take me to the arch and give me a local's insight into the city.
I had to dip my toes into the muddy waters of the Mississippi, of course!
Me and my long-lost friend/tour-guide. I hadn't seen Chris for three years! Back in fall of 2007 I got rides from him in little Cessna airplanes. :D (...The perks of being friends with an aviation major!) We ate at a cute, delicious Italian restaurant, caught up on each others' lives, and visited both the arch and St. Louis' first courthouse.
This was the highlight of my entire trip! WICKED!! I've been wanting to see this musical since I first heard the song "Popular" waaay back in my sophomore year of high school. I was weeping tears of joy throughout the entire performance. I was that happy to be there. :)Any of you been to St. Louie? I want to go back soonly!
