Sunday Evening: Tea, Candlelight, Birdsong | This Is Lovely, No. 1

This is a lovely little series I'm starting. It's for whenever I feel like sharing something
that's just lovely. The simple pleasures in my life, like this Sunday evening in particular. 

I scored this lovely big tea cup (tea mug?) at TJ Maxx for a mere $3.  The turquoise, gold, and pink

color scheme and rose illustration are soooo Marie Antoinette me.  And I adore the matching saucer.  

Earl Grey Tea with a pinch of sugar and splash of vanilla soy milk is divine.

Mint green nail polish and pink polka dotted scarves are quite lovely, too. 

Oh, and I bought this pink magnolia soy candle at Target (pronounced Tar-jay) tonight.

Sweetly scented candles are my favorite pick-me-up.  This one smells fresh, floral, and

overtly feminine.  And it comes in a pretty tin that I'll be able to re-purpose once I use

the candle up. ;)  Doesn't it look lovely next to my little white deer figurine?

I'm spending this lovely evening drinking my tea, burning my candle, and

watching Masterpiece Classic Birdsong.  Birdsong, an adaptation of Sebastian

Faulks' novel, centers around two young lovers torn apart by World War I. 

It's beautiful and tragic all at once. 

Clemence Poesy is undeniably lovely as Isabelle Azaire.
