Tell me about your Fourths!

Hello, lovelies!  I trust you all had a wonderful July 4th?  Mine was different from most years.  My town did fireworks on the 3rd and I was still at work while they were happening. :(  But I went out on the town with some girlfriends and we had a blast.  Fun story of the night:  I was wearing three of my pretty skeletons.  A random guy came up and asked what was with the keys.  I told him that one was the key to success, one the key to happiness, and one the key to my heart.  He just stared at me blankly and said that was dumb.  Yea, dumb!  It's not my fault he couldn't come back with a witty comment.  Haha.

Here's me (left) and one of my lovely gals at the start of our evening.

So with all that excitement and running around Tuesday night, I decided to spend Wednesday in its entirety as a "me" day.  I slept in.  I pinned.  I watched some Cold Case and Criminal Minds.  I attempted to get caught up on some email, but the internet wasn't cooperating.  Then I got up the motivation to paint my other chair.  Since it was sooo hot out (Hello, 106 degree heat index!) I decided to set up shop in my living room. I turned my rug upside down to protect the carpet, then spread out an old bedsheet to protect the rug.  I popped Becoming Jane and Pride and Prejudice into my laptop and got to work.  I also took a short break to cook myself a delicious dinner of buttery, garlic and herb asparagus.  Washed down with sweet tea.

It was great.  I really needed the quite, alone time to myself.  With a job that requires I talk to people for eight hours straight.  And then a wild night out on the town... a straight 24 hours of relaxation, Jane Austen, diy, Lana Del Ray, and spoiling myself is much appreciated.  And now I can face the next three days with a sunny outlook. :)   ...Except for eeeearly this morning.  I'm still getting used to enduring thunderstorms up in this attic.  It's scary!!  :S

So I wanna know! How did ya'll spend your Fourth of July?  Did you do it the old fashioned way with a bbq, fireworks, and sparklers?  (If so, I'm jealous!)  Did you go anywhere exciting?  Did you hibernate in the air conditioning and spoil yourself with some solitude like me?
