It's time for Apartment Therapy's annual Room for Color contest sponsored by Sherwin-Williams. And I can't get enough of it. ...But more than that, I can't get enough of this entry! It is Rohde's "Energizing and Inspiring" Room in Kirkwood, Missouri. (I love a fellow Midwesterner with fantastic taste!) Word of warning: I'm basically just going to ramble about what I adore in this room. Like that hot pink bedspread! That mustard, velvet, tufted bench! The gorgeous, ornate white headboard! The pendant lamp! And those cowgirl boots! I might need a brown paper bag to breathe into...
Fabulous. The bedroom is simply fabulous. Why? Because it is feminine, eclectic, and colorful all in one! I love how the ornate headboard and provincial bench balance out other elements---like the industrial elements found in the shiny steel desk lamps used on the nightstands and the modern wire chair at the desk.
At the other end of the room exists one of those eclectic, gallery style art arrangements that makes my heart go pitter-pat. And you know I can't resist antlers.
An old wooden dresser, antique rug, and vintage globe are all right at home among the creative eclecticism that fills this space.
I don't know about you, but this Room for Color entry had my vote in the contest! Head over to Apartment Therapy to read about how Rohde decorated this space and to check out other entries. (There is so much colorful eye-candy and inspiration waiting for you over there right now!)
