Hello lovelies! Today I'm sharing three beautiful, wintry decorating ideas for spare ornaments... and it is actually from another blog I've been working on. You see, I recently landed a pretty awesome part-time job as a social media assistant for a property management company. Besides dealing with social media and such, something else I get to do is blog. The blog Home Sweet Apt features decorating ideas, do-it-yourself projects, and lifestyle articles as well as event announcements, news stories, and stuff for residents of our properties. It's a pretty sweet gig! I enjoy in the work and my boss Haleigh (...who also happens to have a lovely blog if you want to pop over and check it out).
So today we put together a few lovely vignettes featuring leftover Christmas ornaments. Because, well... there are so many more things you can do with bulbs besides just hanging them on your Christmas tree! I had these spare metallic white and glittery silver ornaments leftover since I used all gold on my Christmas tree. (These babies were just $1 for a tube of 12 at the Dollar Tree! And they're the most darling small size.) Plus, this decor is just wintry-enough to be used past Christmas and into the snowy days of January.
First, I strung the ornaments onto some twine and hung them across a mirror in the office. You could also string them across a hallway, doorway, mantle, or over your bed/headboard. You could swap out the twine for fishing line to give the ornaments a "floating effect." You could also use ribbon or yarn and more colorful ornaments for a more festive feel.
Next, I piled the ornaments into Haleigh's gorgeous copper bowl and threw a star ornament (also $1 from the Dollar Tree) next to them. This would look lovely as a centerpiece on a dining table or coffee table... or even as decoration on a dresser or desk top.
Lastly (and my most favorite!), I hung the ornaments on these beautiful, white-painted branches gathered in a silver vase. So pretty and wintry that we're leaving this as-is in the office for a little while! ;) I'd love to do this with un-painted branches for a more rustic look. Colorful bulbs would look fun, too.
So I hope you're rounding up your spare ornaments and displaying them all over your apartments and dorms! (Don'tcha just love that gray color on the walls?! Me, too! I actually used to have it in one of my old apartment bedrooms. It's Anonymous by Sherwin Williams, btw.)
Well, that's the lowdown on wintry decor and my new job. ;)
