It's been a while since I posted updated photos of my bedroom. But that, my lovelies, is because I've been doing some re-arranging and re-zoning of my attic space. It's almost finished and ready for a full photo (and maybe video) tour! That'll be coming soonly, yet I couldn't wait to share something I've been extra excited about... my turntable!
Using some Christmas money, I purchased this lovely little portable Crosley turntable. I've wanted one for a long time and with so many of my favorite artists releasing their albums on vinyl... I thought it a perfect time to dive in. The turntable is a vibrant shade of orange, has built-speakers, and sounds pretty good for the little beast that it is. The first lp I bought? Mumford & Sons' Sigh No More. And a couple days later, I bought The Decemberists' The Hazards of Love. I'm seriously hooked and have a whole list of records to buy now. (At least I'll have a super easy gift idea for future birthdays and Christmases, right?) And yes, that's a little kitschy deer that hangs out on the turntable. ;)
I gave the turntable its own corner of the attic, near my bed so I can roll off and switch records/sizes easily. (That's one thing I'm getting used to.) I love this happy, colorful corner of the room with my paint chip and stencil art, turntable, basket for my collection of two (soon to be more!) records, some flowers a recent date brought me :), a candle-wax melter my sister got me for Christmas, several deer, and Downton Abbey in the dvd player. (My grandma got me Season 1 & 2 for Christmas.)
I can't wait to show you the rest of my room! I've basically thrown the turquoise and green color scheme to the wind in favor of my beloved brights and bohemian eclecticism. Lots of color, lots of pattern, lots of vintage, lots of artsy. :)
Did any of you get something spectacular for Christmas? Do any re-decorating for the holidays or New Year? ...Or better yet, do any of you have a turntable and vinyl collection?

Hello! I love your blog and I'm surely going to be looking to it for inspiration when I move into my own apartment in the coming year! I might have to make myself some big paintchips like those C:
As far as vinyl goes, I'd love to have some but it's just not in my budget right now (pesky college expenses!). But if you like Mumford & Sons I'd like to recommend the band Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons, they just released their most recent music on vinyl this past August!
Keep up the lovely blog C:
Ah, I love the colours!
There is something so nice about vinyl. I bought a record player a few years ago, and I love it. The sound from a record is just brilliant somehow. Have fun expanding your record collection!
I love vinyl! I have an old player and a lot of old records and some new stuff too, definitely a fun hobby! :)
I love vinyl, too! I don't know why I've never bought any current artists, I mostly buy old jazz and r&b records, and all the old synth pop I collected in the 80s/90s, but I would bet that Mumford & Sons album sounds pretty rad on vinyl.
Loving all the colors in the new space, too. :)
How colorful! I always change my decor up a little based on the season. For winter, I added more somber colors and twinkle lights! I'm excited to bring in some bright colors, like you have, for spring and summer.
I am absolutely in love with the paint colors wall decor!
