Breaking News!

I now take a momentary study break to deliver some breaking news to you!

The Water for Elephants movie trailer is available for viewing on iTunes!!   (Watch here!)
In case you don't know, Water for Elephants is one of my favorite books.  When I was reading it (several years ago) all I could think about was how it would make thee perfect movie.  When I heard that it was being turned into one... I was seriously psyched.  I've followed the news all along---from them getting Reese Witherspoon on board, to casting Robert Pattinson, and news about what lucky elephant plays Rosie.

When I heard Reese was on board, I nearly did cartwheels in my kitchen.  (And I don't even know how to do cartwheels!)  I do wish that she'd dyed her hair brunette because in the book, Marlena has brunette hair.  But I'll let it slide because Ms. Witherspoon is such a fabulous actress.  And as for Robert Pattinson, well... I can't say I'm on "Team Edward."  And honestly, I was a bit disgruntled when I heard he landed the role of Jacob.  Buuut... I figured with some Depression Era-clothing, a pair of suspenders, and a little sunlight... I could warm up to the idea.  And I think WFE might make me a fan of Mr. Pattinson. ;)
Anyway.  I have finals to study for.  UGH. So back I go to my bowl of easy-mac and handful of oreos.

To read my book review, click here.  You should read it so that you're "in the know" with all my WFE-related babbling that will be occurring up until, during, and after the movie release.

(Forgive any grammatical and spelling errors in this post as I'm super-duper excited about this movie, hyped up on highly sugared coffee, and brain-fried from studying Linguistics.  Thankya!)

First off - Yay for study breaks! And Second off, Yes to reading! I love to read but feel like I haven't read anything besides a textbook in much too long! I'm excited to spend break reading books for fun and from the looks of it I'll be adding Water for Elephants to my list - I can't wait! Third off - Couldn't agree more on your take on Reese (and Robert). I can't wait to see her see in How do you Know over break!

This book was so well-written (and also: so sad.)

Can't wait to see how they translate it to the big screen. Movies are almost as never as good as the books, but I'll still love Reese no matter what.

Love your blog--I'm your newest follower!

DIY Cat Barrier for Under $100 (See-Through, Climb-Proof, and Too-Tall-To-Jump)

ICYMI: I gave up Cotton after deciding that after trying so many things, my two adopted cats Dahlia and Cotton were just never going to get along. Long story short: I missed her. And Cotton's back. And Dahlia's not going anywhere. My heart is big enough to keep trying. And my apartment is big enough that if I need to keep them separated long term (or permanently), it can be done. I'm going to write-up a separate post about some of the solutions I've tried, how they worked, who they worked on, and what I'll be trying next. But in this post, I wanted to share the main 'piece de resistance' of having both cats in my apartment: an un-climbable, un-jumpable, see-through barrier to separate Cotton and Dahlia .

Penny's Apartment | Big Bang Theory

Aniela, a lovely reader from Germany, sent me an email requesting advice on recreating the style of Penny's apartment on Big Bang Theory.

Blair's Room | Gossip Girl Decor

Manhattan's debutante Blair Waldorf happens to be my favorite Gossip Girl character.  Her behavior and feelings vary from snobbish to sensitive, but she always (except for a few rare occasions) looks and acts totally pulled together.  Her luxurious bedroom is fit for a queen---and is as pulled together as her preppy fashion ensembles.
