Fall for Orange

bomobob etsy shop

Foliage is in full-swing in the blogosphere.  While I'm definitely a late-spring/early-summer type of girl, I swoon over the changing of leaves every year.  I think autumn would my favorite season if it didn't mean that cold and snow were right around the corner!

In the spirit of this colorful season, I want to dedicate a few posts to incorporating autumn's most vibrant colors into your decor scheme.  And as you can tell about this post's title... I'm starting out with fall's quintessential hue: orange.

Source Unknown
My favorite thing about orange is that it's said to inspire creativity and enthusiasm.  (And a blogger/writer/crafty girl like myself can always use more creativity!)  Orange possesses some of the same fiery energy as red, but on a less explosive level.  Orange can also stimulate the appetite, help to balance stress and emotions, and improve your ability to quickly adjust to change.

So really, what's not to love?

Pumpkins.  Fall leaves.  Clementines.  Peaches.  Carrots.  Monarch butterflies.  Sunsets.  Some of the best things in life are orange.

Check in tomorrow for orange decor inspiration!  You won't wanna miss it!

In the meantime, check out all the orange that's been happening On the Bright Side, my Tumblr.

I like the orange house the best! The Victorian houses are cool by themselves, but the color really adds to this one!

DIY Cat Barrier for Under $100 (See-Through, Climb-Proof, and Too-Tall-To-Jump)

ICYMI: I gave up Cotton after deciding that after trying so many things, my two adopted cats Dahlia and Cotton were just never going to get along. Long story short: I missed her. And Cotton's back. And Dahlia's not going anywhere. My heart is big enough to keep trying. And my apartment is big enough that if I need to keep them separated long term (or permanently), it can be done. I'm going to write-up a separate post about some of the solutions I've tried, how they worked, who they worked on, and what I'll be trying next. But in this post, I wanted to share the main 'piece de resistance' of having both cats in my apartment: an un-climbable, un-jumpable, see-through barrier to separate Cotton and Dahlia .

Penny's Apartment | Big Bang Theory

Aniela, a lovely reader from Germany, sent me an email requesting advice on recreating the style of Penny's apartment on Big Bang Theory.

Blair's Room | Gossip Girl Decor

Manhattan's debutante Blair Waldorf happens to be my favorite Gossip Girl character.  Her behavior and feelings vary from snobbish to sensitive, but she always (except for a few rare occasions) looks and acts totally pulled together.  Her luxurious bedroom is fit for a queen---and is as pulled together as her preppy fashion ensembles.
