Giveaway Winner! | Revive Bath & Body

The winner of the Revive Bath & Body giveaway is...

Congrats, Dylan!  Check your email--Revive will be in touch!

*** This giveaway is now closed.  Stay tuned for more! ***

Fall time!  The return of colorful leaves, pumpkin spice lattes, cute boots, and (oh, the horror!) dry skin.  While you're probably enjoying the foliage, pumpkinated caffeine, and footwear... the havoc crisp fall weather can wreak on your skin is not so fun.  Lucky for you, Caitlin Abshier of Revive Bath and Body has teamed up with Lovely Undergrad to host a giveaway that you're chapped, chafed skin will thank you for.

Caitlin, a sophomore at Kennesaw State University, is a lovely undergrad with a passion for soap making and savvy mind for business.  As a kid, she started making soap when she received a kit as a Christmas present.  Now in college, she's a young entrepreneur that sells her homemade products at markets around the South and in her online shop ReviveYourBath.com. Her soap fragrances include True Lavender, Lemontini, Classy Oatmeal, and Blue Fir (...plus, she's always developing something new!)  And Caitlin doesn't stop there.  Besides soap, you can buy her handmade lip balms, bath soaks, and linen spray.

Wondering what the difference is when it comes to buying off the store shelf vs. handmade?  Here's a blurb off of Revive's website:

"Compared to a store bought bar of soap, this handmade soap is made from vegetable-based oils (oilve, coconut, organic palm, safflower, sunflower, and castor) and does not contain any harmful chemicals, preservatives, parabens, or synthetics found in commercial soap.  It is gentler and milder, which guarentees the softness of your skin.

At Revive, we strive to provide our customers with the best quality products available.  All of our homemade soap is made in small batches using the cold process method.  100% pure essential oils are used to scent the soap – never any synthetic scents."

And if that doesn't pique your interest... Caitlin was kind enough to send a bar of True Lavender soap and a tube of Peppermint Tingle lip balm for me to enjoy and review.
Let me start out by saying that when it comes to bath and body products, I'm a tough cookie.  I have very, very sensitive skin and am prone to drying up and even eczema.  So when it comes to anything I'm going to put on my skin (especially my face!) I'm wary and skeptical.

The products Caitlin sent me were a pleasant and addictive surprise.  For starters, as soon as I opened the package of True Lavender soap I was hit with a burst of wonderful lavender.  The bar of soap is simple, elegant, and fragrant--with dried lavender petals down one edge.  In the shower, the soap is fantastic.  It lathers well and smells amazing, but what I love most is how my skin looks and feels.  After my first use, my skin felt smooth and quenched.  I didn't feel the urgent rush to lather up in lotion.  And the soap is gentle enough to use on my face, too.  (Oh, and did I mention the amazing smell?!)  I've been using this soap bar religiously since I got it and as I watch it shrink into a sliver, I debate which Revive soap bar to try next!

As for the Peppermint Tingle lip balm, it has not left my pocket.  I'm a chapstick addict and have considered myself a Burt's Bees girl since high school.  But my typical beeswax definitely has some competition.  Revive's lip balm goes on smooth without clumpiness or stickiness.  It banishes chapped lips and tastes delicious.  Plus, the peppermint tingles when you put it on.

Now, for what you've all been waiting for...

One lucky Lovely Undergrad reader will win one bar of Revive soap of her choice.  (Choosing from: True Lavender, Tackle, Skinny Dip, Blue Fir, Sweet Citrus, Euphoria, Cara, Lemontini, Classy Oatmeal, and Uncomplicated.)

How to enter:

2. Visit the Revive Bath and Body website and check out all the soaps, bath soaks, and more.

3. Come back to this post and leave a comment with your email address and your favorite Revive product.

Notes:

One entry comment per reader.

This giveaway is open to readers in the 48 contiguous United States.

Please be sure to include your email address in your comment!  If you are randomly selected but there is no email address in the comment so that I can contact you, I will have to draw another winner.  If you're hesitant about listing your email because of the bots out there, use (at) and/or [dot] rather than the actual symbols.  For example, lovelyundergrad[at]live[dot]com or lovelyundergrad (at) live (dot) com.  But including your email address is crucial, darlings! Don't forget. :)

You have until 11:59 October 31 to leave an entry comment.  I will use Random.org to generate a random winner and announce that winner on November 1.

I liked revive on Facebook, and - funny enough - I go to KSU! ha ha. I'm really interested in the Uncomplicated bar, because I have super sensitive skin, and am allergic to most bath soaps. I break out in hives almost every time I take a shower! ha ha. I think I'm gonna have to try it either way!

I loooove homemade soaps, and these are so pretty. I almost wouldn't want to use it if I bought one. It's really hard to choose a favorite, but I'd have to go with Tackle. Confession: I love 'manly' scented bath products...Plus this is one that both me and my boyfriend could enjoy!

I 'liked' Revive on Facebook. http://facebook.com/KayzKreationzGlassKreationz

After reading your post, I checked out the site and really like the Orange Pop Lip Balm. I too use the Burts Bees, but still always feel like my lips are dry and put it on all the time. I think that product sounds wonderful. If I win, I'd like the Lemontini soap bar. Sounds great.

My favorite profuct would have to be the soap sampler gift set. That way I wouldn't have to choose between all of the fabulous kinds! Though if I won I think I would have to choose either the classy oatmeal bar or the lemontini bar. :)

DIY Cat Barrier for Under $100 (See-Through, Climb-Proof, and Too-Tall-To-Jump)

ICYMI: I gave up Cotton after deciding that after trying so many things, my two adopted cats Dahlia and Cotton were just never going to get along. Long story short: I missed her. And Cotton's back. And Dahlia's not going anywhere. My heart is big enough to keep trying. And my apartment is big enough that if I need to keep them separated long term (or permanently), it can be done.
I'm going to write-up a separate post about some of the solutions I've tried, how they worked, who they worked on, and what I'll be trying next. But in this post, I wanted to share the main 'piece de resistance' of having both cats in my apartment: an un-climbable, un-jumpable, see-through barrier to separate Cotton and Dahlia.

Aria's Room | Pretty Little Liars Decor

Welcome back for LU's 2nd room in the PLL series!  Today you're getting a glimpse into my favorite room on the show... Aria's room.  Aria Montgomery is the artistic, imaginative, bookworm of the bunch.  So it's no surprise that her room has an artsy, historic, romantic eclecticism atmosphere.  Plus, it's full of books.  My two words for Aria's attic space: Vintage Eclectic.  (Those happen to be my two favorite decorating words... so brace yourself for my soon-to-come swooning.)

Pencil It In | Working the Pencil Skirt into Your Work Attire, Including 25 Examples with Do's and Don'ts

Starting this week, every Wednesday on The Lovely Side will be devoted to wardrobe, hair, and beauty content.  With summer internships right around the corner and interviews for real world jobs looming as well, I thought now would be a good time to delve into the world of office fashion.
Sarah, a reader, recently emailed me asking about how to style a pencil skirt for her "somewhat casual, somewhat professional workplace full of fashionable co-workers."  She's been lusting after pencil skirts at several stores, but been hesitant to purchase one for fear of looking bad in it and not knowing what to wear with it.
