Back to Campus!

It's that time of year again!  The college town that I call home is doubling in size as students move back and take over Ames.  (Yep, that's Iowa State University's campus and beautiful campanile pictured above!)  I know that things have been sleepy here on the blog.  It's because things have been the opposite of sleepy in my regular life!
Girl Next Dorm magazine is set to launch on September 1st!  A full-time work and school schedule is cramping my style.  One of my closest friends is about to leave for a semester in Rome!  And I can't help but spend leftover free time with my bgf(best guy friend)-turned-boyfriend.

The blog has enjoyed its one week rest, but it's time to wake things up and get decorating!  Prepare yourselves for an influx of small space solutions, thrifty decorating ideas, and nifty diy-projects... plus photos of my lovely attic apartment as it comes together!

Leave a comment and tell me where you're going to school!  Any fellow Cyclones out there? ;)

I'm not going to school anymore, but I work at one! (Does that count?!) I teach at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, so it's definitely back-to-school time for us as well!

Starting my third year at MSU, and definitely feeling like I should take a more minimalistic vibe this time around. I tend towards overpacking in the extreme, so I thought maybe I'd be able to cut down - for the sake of style? It's worth a shot!

Happy to hear you'll be posting more soon, looking forward to some new ideas :)

I go to school in the middle of downtown Chicago - Moody Bible Institute - and I'm so close to going back on Sunday! I have a new roommate and only one more year of dorm life, so I'm looking forward to make this room my best so far - and tips will definitely be appreciated for inspiration.

I go to St Andrews University in Scotland - I won't be going back until early September though! And I'm moving into a new flat, I can't wait to start decorating it! I'm sure I'll be inspired by your room when you post about it! xx

I start my freshmen year at Western Kentucky University on Monday! I'm already moved into my dorm and am working on settling in and decorating it. A lot of my inspiration came from your blog posts, so I can't wait for more tips!
