Cleaning Product Love: Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Radish & Basil

You know you're really starting to get the hang of 'adulting' when you get excited about cleaning products. You caught me. And it's all because of radishes, basil, and pretty labels.

Here's the thing: I've always had more of a hate/hate relationship with cleaning products. I not only have very sensitive skin, but also a very sensitive nose and eyes. Sure, I could gear up with rubber gloves, a face mask, and goggles, but now I have two cats to worry about. If it's not safe for my skin and nose, it's certainly not safe for the felines.

Now, Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day products had caught my eye before. Always at Target. And mainly because of the bright colors and pretty packaging. But recently on a search for pet-friendly, eco-friendly, and me-friendly products, I dove into the details and found that they checked everything off my must-have and should-not-have lists.

So back to Target I went (for like the third time that week) and started smelling all of Mrs. Meyer's goods. I was not disappointed. The Basil is fresh. The Lavender is lovely. The Honeysuckle is so cozy. But ultimately, the Radish won me over – not just for its coral packaging (one of my favorite colors!), but because I simply cannot get enough of the smell. It is indeed Radishy, but in an unexpected way. It's fresh, clean, and a tinge spicy all at once.

I've been using the all-purpose cleaner all over my apartment. Since adopting two cats, I've become somewhat of a cleaning freak. I like to make sure my surfaces are spick-n-span, and this all-purpose cleaner does the trick while leaving behind a nice lingering fragrance. I plan on springing for the handsop and dishsoap next. And since I'm decorating my bathroom in a teal, black, and white theme, I'll probably grab some of the Basil-scented products for in there.

Mrs. Meyer has candles, too. I really wish there were one in the Radish scent. (Hint, hint, Mrs. Meyer!)

With me and Mrs. Meyer, it's all love/love/love. I love that the products work. I love how the products smell. And I love that there's an Iowa connection:

Our products were inspired by Mrs. Thelma A. Meyer, an Iowa homemaker and mother of nine. It all started when one of her daughters was walking down a cleaning aisle, eyeing all the products with their harsh, stinky chemicals. Right then and there, she had an idea: "Let's make cleaners that smell nice, like my mom's garden, but still work like the dickens on daily dirt and grime." (from the Mrs. Meyer's website)

I especially think these cleaning products would make lovely gifts. What? Giving cleaning products as a present? Yes, bear with me. Step 1: Get a cute basket. Step 2: Fill it with a few of Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day products. Step 3: Throw in something special, like a pretty towel or quirky item – like a coffee scoop clip for the kitchen or a glass bowl for jewelry in the bathroom. And voila! Perfect housewarming present for a friend whose just moved into a new apartment or a couple who just bought their first house.

It seems like everyone I talk to has a favorite Mrs. Meyer's smell. So spill: What's yours?

If you've never used Mrs. Meyer's... What is your go-to cleaning product?

This all sounds too perfect! I try to use organic, natural, kitchen cupboard stuff myself - baking soda, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice...
