I love Apartment Therapy's Small Cool Contest. Every year, I look forward to the flood of creativity, DIY ideas, and decorating inspiration. This year, the competition is fierce. There are so many beautiful, functional small spaces to love. Here are ten of my favorites, plus a bonus!

Alexandria's Creative Pursuits |
This is one of the cutest little kitchens. I love the wood floors, runner, and the lovely red and white patterned fabric over the rolling cart. The top of the fridge space is decorating, too, which I love to see. I'm also digging the spice shelves, mirror, and that green glass jug holding the plant.

Abigail's Well-Loved Rowhouse |
In a world of so many white walls, a color lover like me can't help but fall head-over-heels for Abigail's dark walls accented by punches of bright color. Like in this room. The walls are a chocolatey plummy accented by orangey bronze and a vibrant turquoise. Love love love. So moody -- brooding, romantic, and happy all at the same time.

Jesyka's Room for Four |
What an adorable kitchen nook! The wood on that table is amazing and I love how she mix and matched colors and patterns with those throw pillows. I also like the shelf overhead. And that pale blue wall color is so soothing and lovely.

Anna's New Apartment |
It was so hard to choose just one photo to share as a sneak peek of Anna's space. Her sofa is swoonworthy. Her place is filled with vintage accents. And her bedroom is seriously cozy and romantic. But I ultimately went with this shot of her dining area, where she cleverly squeezed in another picture of her apartment by drawing her floorplan on a big, vintage chalk board!

Grace's Unique Unicorn |
There's a lot to love here, from the vintage bed to the wall of books to the fabulous octopus pillow in that retro chair to the unique artwork that really lends a personal touch. Reading in bed is the best and this room is pretty much made for it.

Katie's Hidden Little House |
I'm so obsessed with this one that I audibly gasped when I first saw it... I couldn't bear to share less than three photos of it in all its exposed brick, wood floor, vintage decorated glory. I'm usually not a fan of completely open spaces, but this one just works for me. It's industrial, cozy, vintage, girly, masculine, urban, and cottage chic all at the same time. When can I move in?!

Wendy's Wonderful Parlor Pad |
Another favorite is this place. I love the bright, happy colors, but the apartment's bones are what I'm really ga-ga over. Those windows, that fireplace! No, those (two) fireplaces! Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard.

Hannah and Will's Victorian Apartment |
This apartment is soooo dreamy for me because of how it's maintained its historical charm and grace through all these years. And its dwellers really played on that by keeping things simple, cozy, and oh-so-very quaint. I'm in love. This is pretty much what I dream of in a historical home. Preservation and renovation makes me sooooo happy. :)

Meg's 'Just the Right Size' Apartment |
As a proud owner of a brightly colored (orange) sofa, my heart went pitter-pat when I glimpsed this gorgeous fuchsia sectional. It's a real show-stopper, isn't it? And I absolutely love its raspberry color set against that olivey green screen.
Bonus!

Jessica's Turn of the Century Charm |
Okay, really it's shameless self-promotion. ;) Out of all the many small cool spaces with their exposed brick, architectural character, and fireplaces, I can truly say that my favorite is still my small cool place. The apartment I live in now is hands-down my favorite so far. I'm still getting used to having so much space, but I love everything about my Victorian duplex with its original pocket doors, hardwood floors, and a landlord who lets me paint the walls whatever color my heart desires.
Your turn! What are your favorite small cool spaces this year?
