Giveaway | Snap Decision: Are you going out or staying in tonight? (Closed)

The winner of this fabulous giveaway is Valerie! (I assigned each comment a number and she was randomly selected using a random number generator.) Congrats, Valerie! I'll be in touch. :) Here's what Valerie said she'd be using her gift card for:

Eeek! For some reason when I re-published this page to show the winner, it deleted all the other comments. :( I'll keep that in mind for next time.

Time for another giveaway! How many times can you recall being indecisive about whether to go out or stay in on a particular night? In Snap Decision: Maybe Tonight by Bridie Clark, you're invited to participate in the high-stakes social scene of Kings Academy, an elite boarding school where fitting in may require selling one's soul.

The book opens as the reader (you!) is getting ready for the most exciting party of the year—Midwinter’s Night Dream, set in the frosty woods just off campus—with her roommates and best friends, Annabel Snow, Spider Harris, and Libby Monroe. Choices unfold quickly and the reader must decide which risks to take in pursuit of social status, adventure, success, and love.

Author Bridie Clark has worked as a book and magazine editor and written for the New York Times, Vanity Fair, and New York magazine. Her novels Because She Can and The Overnight Socialite have been published in nineteen countries and featured in dozens of magazines and newspapers, including the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and Glamour UK. She was born in West Hartford, Connecticut and currently lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.

One lucky The Lovely Reader will win a prize pack that includes:

A copy of Snap Decision: Maybe Tonight? and winner's choice of either a $15 Fandango gift card for a night out or a $15 iTunes gift card for a night in.

To enter, leave a comment telling me whether you'd pick the going out or staying in gift card... and what you'd use it for! Please include your email address so that I may contact you if you win. (If you're chosen and did not provide an email address, I will randomly select another winner. If you're worried about spam or bots, use {at} and (dot)com instead of @ and .com.)

For an additional entry, tweet about this giveaway. Be sure to include @TheLovelySide as well as the hashtag #MaybeTonight.

All comments and tweets must be posted by 11:59 AM on Friday, August 30. I'll be announcing and contacting the winner on the afternoon of Friday, August 30.

Giveaway open to U.S. addresses only. Prizing & samples courtesy of Macmillan.

DIY Cat Barrier for Under $100 (See-Through, Climb-Proof, and Too-Tall-To-Jump)

ICYMI: I gave up Cotton after deciding that after trying so many things, my two adopted cats Dahlia and Cotton were just never going to get along. Long story short: I missed her. And Cotton's back. And Dahlia's not going anywhere. My heart is big enough to keep trying. And my apartment is big enough that if I need to keep them separated long term (or permanently), it can be done. I'm going to write-up a separate post about some of the solutions I've tried, how they worked, who they worked on, and what I'll be trying next. But in this post, I wanted to share the main 'piece de resistance' of having both cats in my apartment: an un-climbable, un-jumpable, see-through barrier to separate Cotton and Dahlia .

Penny's Apartment | Big Bang Theory

Aniela, a lovely reader from Germany, sent me an email requesting advice on recreating the style of Penny's apartment on Big Bang Theory.

Blair's Room | Gossip Girl Decor

Manhattan's debutante Blair Waldorf happens to be my favorite Gossip Girl character.  Her behavior and feelings vary from snobbish to sensitive, but she always (except for a few rare occasions) looks and acts totally pulled together.  Her luxurious bedroom is fit for a queen---and is as pulled together as her preppy fashion ensembles.
