3 Easy gift baskets + more ideas to inspire your Gordmans gThanks shopping trip tomorrow on Giving Tuesday

When it comes to holiday gifting (or actually, any gifting), gift baskets are my go-to. It's a chance to give something useful, something delicious, and something just plain fun—all at once! But running all over a town or even a mall can be time-consuming, stressful, and expensive. So I love a one-stop shop where I know I can find something unique and affordable for everyone on my list—from my family and fiance to co-workers in a Secret Santa exchange. Gordmans is always my #1 stop.

From the trendy decor and cute housewares to stylish accessories, tasty treats, and even gifts for hard-to-buy-for guys, I know I'll find everything I need to stay on track for shopping and on budget. But what makes shopping even better at Gordmans this season is that you have the opportunity to give back to the community.

This Giving Tuesday (tomorrow!), every single Gordmans is hosting a gThanks event during which 10% of every sale from 5 pm to close will be donated to a local charity. Plus, the first 50 people in the door at 5 pm will receive a $5 gift card—and you can enjoy light refreshments and enter a raffle for a chance to win a $100 gift card.

It'll will be a fun, festive evening full of shopping, gift-giving, and giving back to local charities.

To help inspire some gift-giving ideas for the loved ones on your list, I put together three Gordmans gift baskets and listed some other creative ideas below.

Coffee Lover
This gift basket is perfect for your coffee-loving friend, sister, or co-worker. Not only is it coffee-themed, but it's also color coordinated—my fave! I was inspired first by the pretty packaging of the coffee and found an adorable mug to match. A "You Got This" notebook and hashtag desk accessory complete the minty green set, which I tucked into a simple white crate that could be used for storage almost anywhere. Tip: The coffee could easily be swapped out for tea or hot cocoa. ;)

Beer Drinker
Since boyfriends, dads, and male friends or co-workers can be notoriously difficult to shop for, I put this gift basket together with guys in mind. (Though there are many ladies—myself included—who would appreciate it, too!) It all started with the gorgeous copper growler I obsessively admired while I wheeled around the store. And we all know beer is best enjoyed with snacks, so I added some moose munch and chocolate, too. I love that Gordmans always has cute beer and wine signs, so I chose one that reads "It's no coincident beer rhymes with cheer." Lastly, I couldn't resist this pair of beer mug socks. I arranged it all in a rustic wire basket that's industrial enough for men, but farmhouse chic enough for ladies. Bonus points if you toss in a gift card to a local brewery so your lucky gift recipient can get their growler filled. :)

Cat Mom
Last but certainly not least, I created a cat lady gift basket with myself in mind. Because what cat mom (or dad) wouldn't love to receive a bunch of feline-themed creature comforts? It began with the "Love my cat" tote. It's perfect for use as a gift basket now, then a pet toy bin later on. I filled it with goodies from all over the store—a snuggly blanket from the pet section, Santa cat slippers from the clothing department, an "It's a cat's world" mug from the kitchen aisles, and a cute little sign from the decorating section. And I threw in a box of Starbucks hot cocoa for extra sweetness. Tip: This gift basket could easily be switched up for a dog lover!

Other Ideas

Chocolate and Wine Lovers' Basket: Fill a pretty gold basket with a couple chocolate bars, a decorative wine sign, and a pretty candle. (Oh, and a bottle of wine, of course!)

Spa Day Basket: Fill a canvas tote with a bathrobe, bath bombs, some nice smelling lotion, a pretty candle, and a pair of luxuriously soft socks.

Newlyweds Basket: Know a recently hitched (or soon-to-be-married) couple? Gordmans often has adorable Mr. and Mrs. decorative items. Add them to a versatile wire basket with a nice picture frame, his and her bathrobe or coffee mugs, and some tasty chocolates.

Home Sweet Home Basket: Help a new homeowner or recent college grad spruce up their new digs. Fill a canvas tote, versatile wire basket, or stylish laundry basket with home goods like kitchen utensils, a nice candle, coffee, and lots of snacks.

Teacher Basket: In the wooden sign section, I often see items with sweet little sayings for teachers. Package one up in a basket with a bag of coffee, travel mug, and fresh notebook or desk accessory.

Have someone on your list who is hard to shop for? Leave a comment telling me about them and what kinds of things they like. I'll try to come up with a Gordmans gift shopping list for you. ;)

You don't have to break the bank on these; bargain to mid-range-priced alcohol is usually fine, but try to avoid run-of-the-mill, common items if possible – they can suggest a lack of thoughtfulness. Gift bags, gift basket lovers, wrapped boxes, or baskets are all good options for presenting alcohol as gifts during the holidays.
