My 5 Favorite Spring Cleaning Essentials + Free Seasonal Set from Grove Collaborative

Spring Cleaning. Two words that are almost as daunting as Daylight Savings. Almost.

Not only am I dragging myself out of bed (thanks to the dark mornings again), but I'm also dragging my feet when it comes to housecleaning. It's hard to keep the rooms spick 'n' span with house projects going on.

The truth of the matter: Sometimes I have to bribe myself. In the mornings, what motivates me to get out of bed and get my butt to the gym? Well, the promise of coffee and thirty minutes to catch up on my favorite blogs before clocking into work for the day. When it comes to motivation for rolling my sleeves and tidying up? I can be coaxed by the prettiest, smell-goodiest cleaning supplies—and like clothing, decor, and candles, I enjoying switching up my scents for each season.

Despite the snow outside my window (that's slowly melting away), let's talk about my must-haves for spring cleaning—and how you can get a free seasonal set from Grove Collaborative.

1. Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Glass Cleaner (Lavender)

I start with the windows, picture glass, and mirrors in any room. That way, any dust that gets stirred up will settle in time for Step 2. This lavender-scented glass cleaner is perfect for springtime and smells so much lovelier than your run of the mill, chemically cleaner.

2. Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Multi-Surface Spray (Peony)

Along with Radish and Basil, this is one of my favorite Mrs. Meyer's scents. I look forward to it every year. Hands down, it is the prettiest smelling cleaner I've ever used. It's fresh, feminine, and floral. It makes me feel lovely just using it—even in my housecleaning sweatpants. I use it to dust everything and wipe down all surfaces in the bathrooms and kitchen.

3. Method Wood for Good Daily Clean

Because of its sweet almond fragrance, this wood cleaner is perfect year-round. It's my go-to for dusting and wiping down wood furniture and our century-old wood built-ins, doors, trim, and fireplace mantle.

4. Method Squirt + Mop Wood Floor Cleaner

This has the same delicious almond smell as Number 3. And it's sooo convenient. We have laminate wood floors downstairs and original hardwood floors upstairs. I trust this cleaner on both. If anything can make mopping enjoyable (and almost, dare I say... fun) it's squirting this on the floor and breathing in the nice almond fragrance.

5. Caldrea Linen and Room Spray (Pear Blossom Agave)

Okay, I'll admit it. I originally bought this room spray because of the pretty bottle and turquoise label. (I like to color coordinate.) I was not disappointed. In fact, now I'm addicted. When I'm through wiping, dusting, cleaning, sweeping, and mopping, I grab my bottle of this and spritz all cloth furniture, bedding, curtains, and rugs. This fragrance is hard to describe, but it's exactly what I want my whole house to smell like all the time. I guess you could say it's my home's "signature scent."

Of course, I corral all of these in my handy Grove caddy (along with some cloths/rags) so I can easily tote my supplies from room to room and from upstairs to downstairs with a mop or vacuum in my other hand.
