A couple years back, I scored a bunch of vintage Harlequin romance covers on Etsy for a super low price. I can't say that I've ever read a Harlequin romance... but I instantly fell in love with the bright colors, vintage illustrations, and kitschy titles. These babies have been hibernating in an envelope since then because I just couldn't figure out what to do with them.
I also had this board. I forgot to snap a picture while it was still white. (I get crafty happy and forget to use the camera... Haha.) I gave the board a coat of turquoise spray paint. And then using Elmer's Spray Glue I adhered the covers to the board. To finish it off, I sprayed the whole thing with clear spray paint to seal it.
And here's the finished project sitting pretty above the window in my writing nook.
There's plenty of paper ephemera available for purchase on Etsy. You could also try Goodwill, thrift stores, and used/discount book stores for old books that you can just take the cover off of. Your local Lowe's will cut any board down to size for you. And spray paint... well, that's just easy-peasy. ;)
