So if I ever get too fed up with teaching, I desperately want to become a flight attendant.

What's your back-up plan?

There's just something about dresser tops that makes me love to browse through photos of peoples' bedrooms on Flickr. I think it may be because dressers are such personal pieces of furniture. They stow away what we wear... and a person's attire can say a lot about their personality. I believe the dresser top (what's on it, what's arranged, etc.) also can divulge details about a person. I wonder what my dresser top says about me...

What does yours say about you? :)

Off to the Lou!

(image via: here.)

Did you guess?!

I'm on my way to St. Louis!

I've always wanted to visit STL and this is my first trip! Today and tomorrow I'll be spending my time in art museums, sculpture gardens, and theatres. I'm bursting at the seams with excitement! I will have photos to share when I return. :)

For now, the blog is on a rare, brief hiatus.

Have wonderful, wonderful weekends! I'll catch up with you on Monday.

Clue #4 | Destination

(image via: here.)

Two day, college-sponsored, professor-chaperoned, fine arts trip full of art and theatre.

Final hint...

{Clue #4}

Three random trivia bits about my destination city:

The first successful parachute jump to be made from a moving airplane was made by Captain Berry in this city in 1912.

When the World's Fair was hosted here in 1904, Richard Blechyden served tea with ice and invented iced tea!

Also at the same 1904 World's Fair, the ice cream cone was invented when an ice cream vendor ran out of cups and asked a waffle vendor to help by rolling up waffles to hold ice cream.

OMG... I can't believe I'm off on my mini trip tomorrow!

Candy-Coated Decor

I have a crush on this lovely interior. I came across MissKittyKat's "Home Sweet Home" photo set on Flickr. The cotton-candy pink, egg-shell blue, and lime green are absolutely pretty. And the eclectic mix of patterns, textures, prints, nostalgia, and new is fun and pleasing to the eye. In the above photo I really like those white shelves above the bed. What a great way to vertically display/store books and pictures.

Above: These shelves hold an array of tins and baskets... some new and some vintage.

Above: Isn't this the most relaxing space with all those shades of blue?

Above: A fabulous and functional workspace. I love the light let in by the gorgeous windows... and I'm smitten with that funky pink mannaquin bust.

Above: Here's a cozy corner that I could definitely see myself curled up in reading my favorite decor magazines. Those vintage lanterns add an unexpected but romantic touch.

Above: The television corner and an adorable chest of drawers.

Above: This is exactly the kind of dresser I'm trying to find for my bedroom.

Above: Last, but definitely not least, is this fab chair. Love.

All of these photos belong to MissKittKat on Flickr. I suggest you visit her photostream and ogle over the many colorful and creative corners of her home.

P.S. MissKittyKat also has a lovely blog called Pink Friday. It's in Swedish and I have yet to figure out how to translate it. ...But it has amazingly pretty pictures and inspirational eye-candy.

Clue #3 | Sights

You know now that I'm going on a mini vacation. It's a weekend trip sponsored by the community college I'm taking summer courses through. And I'll be getting some academic credit for it.

{Clue #3}

But what shall we do on the trip? These kinds of things...

I'll be very impressed if any of your recognize those places.

Otherwise, check back in tomorrow for a clue about my destination city.

Clue #2 | Travel Buddies

(image via: here.)

If you guessed that I was shopping for a trip, you are correct! I was shopping for a mini-vay-cay that I can't wait to take this weekend. :)

As for the grocery items... it is me and my bf's 2 year anniversary today. :D Work, school, play rehearsals, and my upcoming trip make for hectic weekends... so we're postponing our celebratory date night. But he's coming over tonight and I'm whipping up a yummy Italian dinner with lemon bars for dessert. (Yes, I was trying to trick ya by including those grocery items on the list.)

Anyway... on to the next hint.

{Clue #2}

This summer, I'm taking courses through a nearby community college. This trip is actually part of a class. All the people I'll be traveling with are students of various ages... freshman just starting community college, students about to transfer to a four-year school, and adult students who are pursuing an education. I saw the list of names, but didn't recognize any. Perhaps I'll recognize some faces. ;) The chaperones are two professors---a theatre teacher and science teacher. I've taken a class with each of them.

Any ideas as to what kind of activities the trip includes?

J + N = Lovers

(image via: here.)

Two years ago today,

I was head-over-heels for a boy I'd only known for about two weeks. He was tall, tan, and handsome. He had adorable creases on the sides of his big, white smile and wore light blue Levi's jeans. He he was funny, polite, and stole my heart at "Hello." And his eyes! His mysterious, sultry brown-eyed gaze made me swoon from the start.

So on June 22, 2008:

While sipping on a smoothie and gabbing to a friend about having kissed this boy... I sent him a text.

"Sooo... when do I get to call you my boyfriend?" I asked.

His reply was quick and perfect: "Whenever you like. :)"

And I responded, "How about now? ;)"

The rest is history. Today is our two-year anniversary and I am so lucky to still be calling that gorgeous, funny, smart, sweet, Levi-wearing, car-fixing, four-wheeler-riding, all-around-amazing guy my boyfriend. I'm so entirely smitten and every moment we spend with each other is a blast. He plays old Led Zeppelin records for me, takes me on four-wheeler rides, opens doors, tolerates my obsession with Gone with the Wind and my crush on James Franco, teases and flirts with me, turns my bad days into good ones, and never ceases to make me feel beautiful. I'm very blessed.

Yay! :)
