One of my little sisters graduated high school yesterday. So I drove home to join in the festivities. It was a busy but fun day. Helping mom and grams set up the party room, which was done in a pink and maroon theme. Hitting up the McD's drive-thru for 20-piece nuggets and gorging ourselves on them until we felt sick. :S Cuddling with my much-missed dog Adalae and cat Io. Getting all dressed up in my pleated, polka dot, hi low hem dress. Visiting with old teachers. Catching up with family. And eating too many of the amazing cupcakes (see above). I usually don't like frosting and end up scraping it off. But the fluffy strawberry frosting on these strawberry cupcakes was divine. Mmm, mmm, mmm! I ate one just now. :)
At the end of the day, I set out to drive back home from my hometown. This means going west for a ways. So I was literally driving off into the sunset. At one point, the sun started looking a little funny. Like something was blocking it. I tried to look away because it was so bright, but my curiosity kept bringing my eyes back. I'd keep checking to see if it was still blocked. Eventually it was back to normal. Though my eyes hurt from staring at the sun.
When I got home later and logged onto Facebook, I started reading all these status updates and photos about a solar eclipse. Mystery solved. I'd been watching a solar eclipse, which you're not supposed to do. Ooops. Fortunately, I can still see today.
So anyway, it was a lovely weekend besides almost blinding myself. As soon as my sister and mom get around to posting pics of the lovely graduation party, I'll probably share those, too. :)
Here's to a lovely (and speedy) week ahead!!
