Fall Faves | 12 Little Luxuries for Autumn
It's finally starting to truly feel like fall here in Iowa. (Hey! I'm not complaining about an extra week or two of open windows and jacket-less fashion.) Here are twelve items that are proving to be my favorites this season—whether on the vanity, the coffee table, or kitchen counter.
1. Wet n Wild Color Icon Blush | Champagne Rose
This light, bronzey peach is my everyday go-to since it's not too heavy but has a subtle shimmer. Not too pink, not too peach. It's just right—and the price is, too. ($3)
2. Cat-Eye Glasses from Zenni
Jeepers, creepers! Where'd you get those peepers? Zenni, actually. I have several pairs of glasses (four-eye love), but lately I'm really digging my brown, almost-tortoise shell, cat-eye specs from Zenni. Oh, and they were only $16!
3. Wet n Wild Mega Last Nail Polish | Haze of Love
Okay, so I just bought this bottle of nail polish at my local Dollar General the other day. And I'm going to paint my nails today—promise! But I can tell from looking online and at the bottle that I'm going to be wearing this hue alllll falllll long. ($2)
4. Revlon ColorBurst Balm Stain | Crush
This isn't new to my lip color arsenal, but it's the shade I keep coming back to this fall. Now usually, I'm all about those bright red or dark red lips. This autumn, I'm feeling the berry-stained and wine-stained look instead. (But I do have this product in a nice red called Adore that's on standby for my red lipstick days. Heh.) It runs between $6 and $8.
5. Target Container Candle | Autumn Harvest
I should have stocked up. Because though not all the leaves have fallen, Target has already switched over to Christmas mode, clearanced out the fall candles, and replaced them with the scents of pine and freshly fallen snow. I love winter fragrances, I do—but I'm going to be burning my autumn candles just a while longer. Especially this one, which smells warm and rustic—like freshly fallen leaves, crisp air, roasted nuts, and just a pinch of cinnamon. I bought a tiny candle for like $5, but I'm regretting not splurging on the big $10 one now. Lesson learned.
6. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | Very Black
I've said it before and I'll say it again: If I could only use one makeup product for the rest of my life, it'd be mascara. Yes, I'd even forgo red lipstick. (Gasp!) I bought this mascara on a whim before my sister's wedding. I was hooked. And then I got all the other bridesmaids hooked. It's a good one and will cost you about $6 or $7. Get the pink tube. And I recommend the not waterproof. (But I have a thing against sticky waterproof mascaras.)
7. Acure Organics | Magical Wonderfluff
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not one for much of a skincare routine. A lot of products dry or break me out, so it's been make-up removal wipes and good ol' water for the last few years. But I recently ordered this Magical Wonderfluff from Grove Collaborative because—yes, you caught me—the name totally intrigued me. Now I'm obsessed. At night, I take off my makeup, rinse with water, and dab this cream on my face. And, you guys—my face is sooooo soft. All night. Even in the morning. It's also seriously helping combat the dry, flakiness that starts to happen around my nose during the cold months. Apparently, it also fights wrinkles and signs of aging. Win/win. It normally runs aorund $20, but I got a tube for $18.
8. Acure Organics | Moroccan Argan Oil, Rose
I also got a bottle of this from Grove Collaborative. I've been using it on my arms and hands to keep them silky, smooth, and moisturized as the air gets dryer. I was a little nervous about the rose scent, but it's not what I expected. It's light and crisp—even just a teeny tiny bit citrusy, which balances out the floral. I love it. And I never expected to say that about a rose-scented anything. This normally runs about $15, but is $11 for Grove members.
9. Mrs. Meyers Counter Top Spray | Apple Cider
I love Mrs. Meyer's products, especially the seasonal scents. And while I used the mum fragrance in my kitchen for the last week, I've switched back to the apple cider because it smells so dang delicious and clean at the same time. It's less than $4 from Grove right now!
Pssst! Want to try out those products from Acure or Mrs. Meyers? Sign up for Grove Collaborative using this link and you'll get a free $10 to spend right away.
10. Wet n Wild Au Naturel Palette | Bare Necessities
I have two of these nude palettes from Wet n Wild—I mean, for $5ish dollars... why not?! But this one (Bare Necessities) is my favorite. There's a nice bronze brown in there that I use like everyday. And the light, almost mauve pink is magically beautiful on every single complexion.
11. Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse
I'm picky with foundation, but I tried this one on a whim when I ran out and only had the Dollar General selection to choose from. (Their selection—at least at my store—isn't bad at all!) But anyway, I really like this stuff. It goes on light and creamy. It's moisturizing. I can dust over it with my powder without looking cakey. And it lasts all day. I also really like the little pump applicator. What's not to love? Especially for $8. (Note: It's more like $10 on their website.)
12. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
Last but certainly not least, this is one of my favorite beauty products. I don't wear a ton of foundation and powder. And I don't like to feel like there's gunk caked on my face. #11 and this are a perfect combination. I just dust a bit of this over my face to set the foundation before applying my blush and eye makeup. Also, it's only like $4. Yay, beauty bargains!
That's all for now, folks! What are you favorite fall luxuries?
